Legal

Terms of Service

What you can expect from us, and what we ask of you.

Last updated August 12, 2026

These are the ground rules for working together. We have tried to write them the way we would explain them to you at your kitchen table, rather than in the usual legal fog.

1.These terms

These terms apply when you use rachellescleaningservice.com or book cleaning services with Rachelle's Cleaning Services, operating as Rachelle's Cleaning Service (“we,” “us,” “our”). By requesting a quote or booking a visit, you agree to them.

If we have given you a separate written agreement, that agreement controls wherever it differs from this page.

2.What we do and where

We provide residential house cleaning across North & coastal Orange County, California, including recurring cleaning, deep cleaning, move-in and move-out cleaning, post-construction cleaning, and vacation-rental turnovers.

We are bonded and insured, and we hold a current city business license. Every cleaner is background-checked before entering a home. We do not hold a California state contractor’s license, because house cleaning is not a licensed trade in California.

3.Quotes and pricing

Quotes are free and given in writing. A quote is based on the information you give us about your home: its size, its condition, and the type of clean you want.

If the home turns out to differ materially from what was described, for example it is substantially larger, has heavy build-up, or needs a deep clean rather than a standard one, we will tell you before we start and give you the choice to approve a revised price, reduce the scope, or cancel at no charge.

Any price ranges shown on our website or in our guides are general market figures for Orange County, not a quote for your home.

4.Scheduling, cancellation, and access

We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a visit, so the crew’s day can be rebooked. Repeated late cancellations, or being unable to get into the home at the scheduled time, may result in a charge for the visit.

Most clients give us a key, a garage code, or a smart-lock code. Access details are stored securely, shared only with your assigned crew, and deleted when you stop using our service. You are responsible for telling us about alarms, pets, or anything else we need to know to enter safely.

We may need to reschedule for reasons outside our control, including illness, severe weather, or unsafe conditions in the home. We will give you as much notice as we can and will not charge you for a visit we cannot perform.

5.Our guarantee

If a visit is not right, tell us within 24 hours and we will return and re-clean the areas that missed the mark at no charge. That is our remedy for a clean you are unhappy with, and we would rather fix it than argue about it.

The guarantee covers the scope that was quoted. It does not cover work we were not asked to do, or areas we could not reach.

6.What is not included

Unless we have agreed otherwise in writing, our cleaning does not include:

  • Biohazards, including bodily fluids, blood, human or animal waste, needles, or drug residue
  • Mold remediation, pest control, or hoarding cleanup
  • Exterior windows above ground level, roofs, gutters, or chimneys
  • Moving or lifting heavy furniture and appliances, or climbing above a two-step ladder
  • Cleaning inside occupied pet enclosures or litter areas beyond routine tidying
  • Laundry, dishes, or inside appliances unless added to your quote

If we arrive and find conditions that are unsafe or outside our scope, we will stop, explain why, and discuss options with you.

7.Payment

Payment is due when the service is complete unless we have agreed on other terms in writing. We accept cash and card.

Returned payments and chargebacks that are not the result of our error may incur the fee our bank charges us. Accounts unpaid after 30 days may be paused until they are settled.

Tipping is appreciated but never expected or required.

8.Damage, breakage, and valuables

We take real care in your home. If we damage something, tell us within 48 hours of the visit so we can inspect it, and we will repair or replace it or file an insurance claim as appropriate.

Please put away or tell us about irreplaceable, sentimental, or high-value items so we can avoid handling them. We are not able to accept responsibility for items that were already damaged or unstable, for normal wear that becomes visible once dirt is removed, or for surfaces that were installed or sealed improperly.

We use products appropriate for ordinary household surfaces. If your home has delicate, antique, or specially finished surfaces, tell us in advance so we can use the right method or leave them alone.

9.Pets

We are comfortable working around dogs and cats. For everyone’s safety, please secure any animal that may be anxious around strangers or that might get outside while we are working. We are not responsible for pets that leave through a door or gate that was not secured.

We can switch to eco-friendly and pet-safe products at no extra charge if you ask when booking.

10.Hiring our team

We invest a great deal in recruiting, vetting, and training our cleaners. You agree not to directly hire or engage a member of our team, outside of our company, for two years after they last cleaned your home. If you would like to hire someone from our team, talk to us first and we will try to work something out.

11.Photos

We sometimes take before-and-after photos of our work for quality control, and for vacation-rental clients we send a photo report after each turnover. We will not publish a photo of your home in our marketing without your permission, and we never publish anything that identifies you or your address.

12.Reviews and testimonials

We publish reviews only from real clients who have given them voluntarily. We do not write, buy, or incentivise reviews, and we do not publish a client’s words without their consent.

13.Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability arising from our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the visit that gave rise to the claim, except where our insurance provides greater coverage, in which case that coverage applies.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost income or missed appointments. Nothing in these terms limits liability for personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited under California law.

14.Website content

The text, photographs, and design on this website belong to us and may not be copied or reproduced without permission. Our guides and articles are general information about home care, not professional advice about your specific property.

Some images on this site are illustrative and were produced with the help of AI tools. They represent the standard of work we aim for rather than a specific client’s home.

15.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts serving Orange County, California.

Before starting any formal proceeding, please contact us directly. Nearly every problem can be resolved with a phone call, and we would prefer to fix it.

16.Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and the version in effect when you book is the one that applies to that booking.
